Skateboard Bushings are the small, cylindrical pieces of rubber or urethane that fit into the trucks and provide the cushioning and pivoting action for turning. The main purpose of bushings is to control the responsiveness and rebound of the trucks, with different durometer (hardness) ratings suiting different riding styles and weight preferences. When purchasing bushings, skaters should consider factors like their weight, desired turn radius, and terrain. Softer bushings allow for a tighter turn radius but can feel less stable, while harder bushings provide more support and rebound at the expense of some maneuverability.
